Entrepreneur Magazine 2013 Women To Watch: Sophia Amoruso
Entrepreneur Magazine posted an article entitled: "2013's Entrepreneurial Women To Watch" yesterday and I have to say that all of their recipients were truly exceptional women in their respective fields of industry. What I really liked about each story, was that everyone seems to have a personal "motivation" behind their successes. They had one personal key inspiration that made a difference in their life and helped propel them into their current business ventures.
What I am trying to say is that they each seemed to be doing what they have a passion for rather than putting themselves through the "Capitalist Grinder" and coming out a cookie cutter version of the other "mice trying the find their cheese"(Who Moved My Cheese? by Spencer Johnson). They've found something that they truly enjoy and have worked hard at making it successful. I can respect that. I really appreciate each their individuality, ability to stand out, personal strength, successful attitude, ethics, and depth.
One of my personal favorites was Sophia Amoruso, whose company "Nasty Gal" has seen tremendous financial success in the last few years and is projected to only increase in the future. Sophia specializes in vintage inspired and true vintage clothing which she started selling from her garage on Ebay in 2006! Her company has posted earnings of over $128 million in 2012 alone, four times higher than the year before. Nice! She has also earned her way onto the "Forbes Ones to Watch" and "40 under 40". I personally love vintage clothing so I couldn't help but respect her style.
Please check out "Entrepreneur Magazine's" article to read more about the other great women listed such as Linda Rottenberg who is an Entrepreneurial Advocate supporting the next generation of promising entrepreneurs; Olga Koper who is pushing practical applications for nanotechnology; and Yael Cohen who is helping young people become more aware of the importance for early stage cancer testing.
I look forward to supporting and hearing more from each one of these women and others like them in the future, Lord willing.
Yours Truly, ME
